Canada wins 11 medals Print

ORLANDO, Fla. — Canada added three more medals Saturday at the Tournament of the Americans tenpin bowling championship, taking silver in the adult overall category and bronze in both the senior team and overall category. 

Canada's adult team of Kodee Pilling of Lethbridge, Alta., France Joubert of Ste Foy, Que., Matthew Dammann of Edmonton and Raymond Lussier of Montreal finished fifth in the team event. Dammann and Lussier boosted the team's overall score with fourth and fifth place finishes respectively in the men's singles event, while Joubert and Piling were fourth and ninth in the women's event.

The senior team featuring Elizabeth Wong and Lauraine Fast of Calgary and Luciene Casagrande and Ken Hunter of Winnipeg finished third behind the United States and Venezuela in the team event and the overall category. Wong and Fast were fifth and sixth in the women's senior singles event, while Hunter and Casagrande were sixth and 13th in the men's event.

Canada won a total of 11 medals at the annual event, which featured 168 bowlers from 18 countries.
