During a 1919 tournament in Des Moines, a cat ambled onto one of the bowling lanes just as Chicago star Joe Fliger delivered his shot. The ball hit the cat, who jumped into the air, then scampered out of the establishment. Meanwhile, the ball continued on and recorded a strike. Fliger could have called “interference” and rebowled, but accepted the strike. |
