The manager of Hotel Raulf bowling alley, back in 1938, wanted to prove to people that bowling was a good exercise. He announced that he would bowl 100 games in one day with the condition that he would bowl an extra game every time he scores less than 125.

That morning, he weighed in at 170 pounds. Sixteen hours and 101 games later, he stepped on the scale. He now weighed 158 pounds - a twelve pound loss. He did indeed prove his point but he also needed four days to recuperate.
