Once a week, a bowling alley in Michigan (where else?) welcomes about 150 unemployed workers, along with some hiring companies and employer reps, to try to throw some strikes and get their careers out of the gutter. It's all free too.
It's unclear how many bowlers are getting jobs out of the league-job fair, but the idea is certainly not crazy.

There are 3 bowling centers that are starting this program up in the Metro Detroit area (Woodhaven Lanes, Skore Lanes, Super Bowl). Time Magazine has imbedded journalists located in Detroit for this next year and they should consider following this story from the beginning. The program will start in Mid-January. |
