Like a new set of ten pins every frame, the number 11 kept cropping up for the Hippe bowling team of St. Louis in 1950.

In the schedule of the C.J.B. League, the Hippe's were team No. 11. In the 11th week of the league, the team won its 11th game on the 11th day of the month. They were 11th in the standings, 11th in the high-game standings, and 11th in the three-game series. The following week, they were scheduled to bowl on (what else?) Lane 11!

Computerized scoring
In 1979, Computerized scoring replaced manual scoring at the ABC in Tampa. No longer did "boardmen" have to perch on scaffolding above the lanes to post the frame-by-frame scores.
