50 YEARS OF BOWLING IN ONE LEAGUE!
True StoryOn April 4, 2008 the General Motors Mens Bowling League commemorated the career of its longest standing member. John Slawik was honoured as he completed 50 consecutive years of bowling in that league. From the days of pinboys, manual and semi-automatic pinsetters and above ground ball returns to high tech bowling balls, computerized scoring and internet tournaments John has seen them all.

Note: A Special THANKS goes out to Mike Snow for providing this information and for all the work he has put into this historic event.

Doug Scott ties record (Updated)
CTF 300Congratulations to Doug Scott for shooting his 7th 300 this year. Last Tuesday, at Empire Lanes, Doug started his first game with a 300 and proceeded to strike for the next 8 frames of the second game. Doug's most recent 300 now ties him with Dan Aqwa for the most 300 games in one season. With lots of season left this year, I like Doug's chances for breaking this long standing WECKBA record. Go getem Doug!

UPDATE: Doug now has the record having bowled his 8th last Wednesday, 6 days after he tied the record.

Andy Drouillard's first 800 series.
CTF 800Congratulations to Andy Drouillard for shooting his first ever 800 series. Andy did it in style by making sure early in his series to seal the deal on his upcoming honour score. Andy started his first game with a perfect 300 game and followed up with a nice 259 second game. His second game was to be his lowest since his thoughts were to go for his second perfect game of the evening. Well, you can't get much closer than he did.
